Ravindra Jadeja, an Indian spinner, has taken more wickets for India in One-Day International versions of the Asia Cup than Irfan Pathan did. Jadeja has taken more wickets than Pathan did.

On Tuesday, during the Super Four stage match against Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Jadeja became the first player to attain the milestone. During the encounter, he was responsible for two wickets but also gave up 33 runs. Irfan Pathan was the previous record holder with 22 scalps in 12 innings, but the Indian left-arm spinner has surpassed him with 24 scalps in 18 innings.

At the KIA Oval, Ben Stokes dispelled any concerns that may have been raised about his ability to play 50-over cricket following a retirement from one-day internationals that lasted for 14 months. He smashed his fourth century in the format off of 76 balls, then drove on to post the best score in the format by an Englishman with 182 off of 124 to set up a crushing victory against New Zealand. His performance helped England set up a scenario in which they were able to defeat New Zealand.
